HOPE AND HOSPITALITY
Inspired by our values of Adventure, Generosity, Reflection & Sanctuary
On 6th November 2022 we launched Hope & Hospitality at STBBC. It is our vision and framework for the next season of church life. We have committed to doing all we can to be a beacon of hope, a place of acceptance, and a community that roots all we do in our relationship with God and with those around us. We’re excited about what God is doing in and through our church, and we’re looking forward to seeing how things develop as we explore Hope & Hospitality together.
-
Seeking new opportunities to help people encounter Christ
Deepening our spiritual resilience and understanding of Christian hope with more regular Communion, additional times of prayer, and retreats during lent and advent
Showing our community God’s love through our community mission work
Sharing and celebrating all that Jesus has done in our lives
-
Furthering our commitment to being an inclusive and affirming church, offering safe and sacred spaces for everyone.
Resourcing and equipping work with all ages.
Bringing kindness to every task, conversation and activity.
Making space and time to share meals together.
-
Strengthening our commitment to environmental justice and achieve an eco church gold award.
Broadening our cultural offer in events and activities to create compelling experiences and engagements with faith, values and purpose through working with artists and the arts
Actively seek opportunities to celebrate and give thanks for good and beautiful things going on beyond the walls of the church
Renewing the site so that it is a dynamic centre of abundant life, with particular emphasis on our areas of first contact (e.g. car park, foyer)
-
Furthering our commitment to social justice in our links with campaign groups and organisations working for change, furthering our advocacy for the marginalised and oppressed.
Actively look for partnerships and collaborators, investing time in building relationships with denominational, ecumenical, and community partners.
Strengthening external and internal communications, encouraging open and honest conversations.
